Sealed to step-father Ernst Heinrich Carl Hansing at her request.
Raised by her grandmother Schoettelndreyer and her Tante Busche. Worked as a
cook after apprenticing at her uncle's Inn. Met Georg at a dance for rail-
road employees where another uncle had taken her as his date. She went re-
luctantly when he promised to buy her a new dress and yellow shoes to match.
Her cooking skills served her well when funds were scarce during the GREAT
depression. We all loved her cooking, especially the red cabbage and puffa
(potato pancakes), chicken noodle soup, and zuzammen gekochtes (a thick
vegetable soup). She had an almost fanatical testimony of the ruthfulness of
the gospel and the Mormon Church. As a result of her example and that of
George, all three children were married in the Temple. She died of colon cancer
that had metastisized to her liver. It was very painful, but she was ery brave
because she knew she would soon be "going home." Georg had come to escort
her. In a dream she saw him standing by the big spruce tree outside the front
window and when she called to him he smiled.
