Sailed aboard ship "Planter" on 02APR1635 (38 adults and children aboard). Nicholas Travis, master. Brought certificates from minister of St. albansin Hertfordshire. Attestations from Justice of Peace according to Lord's orders. See: History of Stratford, The First Settlers, p86.
According to Customs House records (London) William was a linen weaver, 34 years old. (See Complete Book of Emigrants 1607-1660, p128.
Made freeman in Massachusetts Colony 07DEC1636 and settled briefly in Concord. Moved to Stratford in 1639; a juryman in Hartford, 1641.
His will is dated May1651.
His widow, Margaret, married William Hayden of Windsor.
