Samuel Dwight arr. at Napier on board the "Chillie" in 1872. Came out under either Brogde nor Carter scheme. Carter scheme brought a number of young boys out to work on the railway between Christchurch and Dunedin. The immigrants were housed in barracks in Caversham untilthey were able to settle themselves.
The family lived in Surrey before moving to Norwood, then moved back to Surrey about the time he came out to N.Z.
