Parker Charlie [Male] b. 28 MAY 1880 Wayne County, Mississippi, USA - d. 18 JUL 1918 Mississippi, USA
[wwspiers-erickson.GED]
Died when a limb fell on him in a logging accident. Back then in the early 1900s they clear cut all the Virgin timber. When they cut the trees next to this particular tree a large limb caught in the branches and broke off with the broken end hanging down next to the trunk high up in the trees branches. The crew cutting that area decided it was too dangerous to cut this tree right then. After days, maybe weeks, they were thinking and hoping that the wind would dislodge the limb, but the limb appeared stuck fast and was not going to fall down any time soon. Charlie and his partner volunteered to cut the tree.
