Spiers Simon Nicholas [Male] b. 28 SEP 1954 Romford, Essex, England

I am told that we descended from German Jews. Evidently two families, One were silk merchants the other owned ships. I think that the name was derived from VonSpyrs but I don't know any of that for sure. I also heard that a decendand was the lord mayor of Portsmouth. The story goes that he was a knight & had a title. it goes on that this person died of a broken heart because he was never made a baron. There is rumor that he was decreed a baronet on his deathbed. If this were so the title would have been hereditary & my father would have the title of Sir Charles, baronet of Portsmouth.
