John served in Captain Lloyd Baal’s company, Col. John Stewarts 3rd Maryland regiment. His brother Richard served 3-years with George Washington during which he was severly wounded. Both men were discharged December 1783 at Annapolis following the victorious battle at Yorktown with the English General Cornwallis in which both men participated. He moved in 1794 to Westmoreland County, PA.
