Reid John "Major" [Male] b. 1574 Scotland - d. BET 1608 AND 1665

Major John Reid, in 1611, was induced by King James I of England to colonize North Ireland. Lands there had been forfeited to the British Crown on the failure of the Irish Rebellion, (I believe this was in about 1649) instigated by Phillip II, King of Spain. Thus the Reid's left hier Scottish homeland, and ventured out into Ireland.
