OBITUARY
The Huntsville Forester
Dec 31, 1931
The remains of the late Daniel Bray, pioneer resident of Stephenson Township, were laid to rest at Madill's Church, at which Reverends C. C. Wellerman and J. Lavell Smith took part. Both ministers in their address referred to the sterling character of the deceased; to his long and honourable association with the community life of the of his district; of the wholesome influence for good upon the life of his fellow citizens, and of his early association with efforts to establish Madill's Church, which he helped erect 55 years ago, and where he was Sunday School Superintendent for many years.
Among the visitors present at the funeral were Reeve Brown and Mr. Alex Proudfoot, with whom the late Mr. Bray was long associated in Council work in Stephenson. The musical service included the well known hymns: "Rock of Ages" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" with Miss Agnes Madill, niece of the deceased, at the organ. Old friends from Huntsville, Aspdin, Allansville and other parts were present to pay their last respects to a departed neighbour and friend.
