OBITUARY - After a lengthy illness, Mrs. Martha Jane Spiers passed away in the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, Wednesday, March 28, 1956. Mrs. Spiers was born in Stisted Township, Muskoka District, Ontario, August 1, 1882. Coming west with her husband and family, they have resided in the Campbell River district for the past 14 years.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Sheffield Spiers; one sister, Mrs. Ed Bush, of New Ontario; one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Head, of Toronto; eight sons, Melville of Hamilton, Ontario, Leonard of Calgary, Alberta, John, Percy and Hartley of Vancouver and Cloverdale, B.C.,Vernon, Ronald and Carrol of Campbell River, B.C.; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held from Sutton's Funeral Parlour, Campbell River on Saturday, March 31, 1956.
