OBITUARY - Funeral services were conducted at Perrins' Funeral Chapel for a pioneer resident of the North, Alice Pamela Bradley, 89. The death occurred at Haileybury hospital following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of Thomas and Lydia Spiers, born Feb. 21, 1888 in Muskoka district, she was the last member of the family to survive. Her marriage to John Bradley April 10, 1907 took place at Huntsville where they resided for a short time and then they came north and settled on their farm a few miles from Thornloe, Ontario. She was active in community activities, being a member of the Wabi Valley Institute and the W.A. of Thornloe United Church. Her husband predeceased her in 1945 and later she made her home in New Liskeard, finally at Northdale Manor.

Mrs. Bradley is survived by two daughters; Pearl, Mrs. Henry Miller and Norma, Mrs. Willard Neill, both of Thornloe; two sons, Elmer of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Edgar of New Liskeard. A son, Harvey, predeceased her in August 1975. There are also 15 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James, Lee and John Miller, also Alan and John Bradley, all of whom are Mrs. Bradley's grandsons. The sixth pallbearer was Earl Read, a granddaughter's husband. Rev. Don Maclean officiated at the service held September 23 in New Liskeard. The family and relatives then travelled to Huntsville where a graveside service was held at Madill's Cemetery, close to the historic log church.
