Pearl (Bray) Rawn - c.1919
OBITUARY - Pearl Rawn of 48 1st Avenue, Orangeville, died November 6, 1968 in Dufferin Area Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Rawn was born in Huntsville, the daughter of Mary and William Bray. She attended Bracebridge Model School and married the late George M. Rawn on June 4, 1913 in Huntsville. They resided in Albion Township after their marriage.
Mrs. Rawn was employed as a teacher prior to her marriage. She was a member of Westminster United Church, Orangeville, and was one of the first two women to be elected as Elder. She was a life member of the United Church Women and was Superintendent of the Nursery Roll. She was also a member of the Orangeville Lawn Bowling Club and the Orangeville Art club.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. Carson Patterson (Mildred), RR#1, Caledan East; Mrs. Eric Holmes (Myrtle), RR#2, Caledan East; and Mrs. Bruce Metcalf (Georgina), Schomberg; two sisters, Mrs. John Hoggarth, Ivy, and Mrs. Harvey Skinner, Oshawa; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Miller Rawn. The funeral service was conducted from Westminster United Church, November 18, by Dr. A.R. Huband. Interment was in Caledan East Cemetery.
The pallbearers were all nephews: Gordon Atkinson of Lindsay; Cleve Rawn of Mono Mills; George Rawn of Orangeville; Lloyd Rawn of Orangeville; Clarence Hoggarth of Thornton and David Skinner, Toronto.
