Byrd Book p. 90: Lived on Wolf Creek near Old Olive Church, about 5 miles west
of Lumberton, Ms. When Wiley was about 4 years of age the following incident
occurred. Sabra Ann had Wiley riding behind her on horseback near their home
and witnessed a gun fight in which Cal Wages of the notorious Wages-Copeland
clan of outlaws killed George Washington Bilbo and severely wounded James
Oliver Bilbo. It happened at about sunrise. James Oliver Bilbo's thigh was
broken and he fell off his horse in front of the Warren Strahan house. Wages
had pursued him but Warren Strahan came out fo the house as Wages rode up, and Wages decided not to knife Bilbo to death. The members of the clan fled.[MosesSr.FTW]

Daniel was Postmaster at Crossroads Station, Mississippi in 1834. He moved to
Marion County before 1850.
