CONC
As a young man, John moved with his family from Massachusetts to Corinth, New York. After his marriage to Roxena they lived in East Poultney, Vermont for a time, but then returned to Corinth.
In 1815 the family moved near Louisville, Kentucky and remained there for about eight years before relocating in Clark County, Indiana. In 1827, John and Roxena made their permanent home in Jackson County, Indiana and settled on 120 acres along the banks of the White River. This was in Carr Township on the road from Medora to Vallonia.
They moved up river to Elizabethtown in 1832 and made their home in Hamilton Township along Indian Creek where John died. Roxena went to live with her daughter, Manerva, and in about three years, at the age of 52, she married widower Jonas Crane who was the 70 year old uncle of her son-in-law Isaac Crane. After Isaac's death, Roxena again went to live with Manerva, and lived with her until her death in 1863.
