Gene and Evelyn were introduced by a relative while he was stationed in Enid, Oklahoma. They were married at her sister's home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He retired from the United States Air Force at age 37, retired from civil service at age 52 and then built homes for a few years. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the early 1990's.

Henry was a Revolutionary soldier. He lived in Fauquier County, Virginia and Chatham County, North Carolina, before going to what was become Sevier County, Tennessee. That was about 1789 and he lived only 5 years in the new country. Henry and Elizabeth Langford were among the earliest pioneers settling in Sevier County.
