I am looking for ifo in the last name of Burge, and Lee. My father was Preston Grayson Burge,Jr., his father was Preston Grayson Burge,Sr. and his mother was Fanny May Lee. On his father`s side, his grandfather was James Monroe Burge, grandmother was Nancy Missouri Lee, his great grandfather was Allen Burge, great grandmother was Ellen Bilbo, and great, great, grandfather was George Washington Burge, great greatgrandmother was Elizabeth Stockstill. A. Diane Burge Fogleman:

NATHANIEL BURGE Born between 1780 and 1790 in Virginia. He served as a private in the 13th Regiment (Nixon's) Mississippi Militia in the War of 1812. On Aug. 14, 1817, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, he married Anna Morgan (BB 1800-1805). Two males the correct age for James W. Smith and Henry Burge Smith were added to Nathaniel's household between the 1830 Hinds County, Ms., census and the 1840 census of Attalla County, Ms.

The 1820 Covington County, Ms., census listed Nathaniel as follows:

one male - 26 to 45 (BB 1775-1794)
one female - 16 to 26 (BB 1794-1804)
two females - 0 to 10 (BB 1820-1820)

Nathaniel paid taxes in Covington County, Ms., in 1820, 1821, 1822 and 1823 (two Nathaniels listed in 1823).

The 1830 Hinds County, Ms., census listed Nathaniel as follows:

one male - 40 to 50 (BB 1780-1790)
one female - 20 to 30 (BB 1800-1810)
two females - 0 to 5 (BB 1825-1830)
four females - 5 to 10 (BB 1820-1825)

A. Dianne Burge Fogleman:

Born around 1794-96 in Virginia. During the War of 1812, he served as a private in Lt. Nelson's Division, Ms. Militia. On Jan. 18, 1821, Lawrence County, Mississippi, he married Telitha Stockstill, who was born in 1801, daughter of Joshua and Mary Knight Stockstill. (Note: Christopher's brother, George Washington Burge, married Telitha's sister, Elizabeth Stockstill. Also, Martha Warden, daughter of William and Elizabeth Burge Warden B Elizabeth, d/o Drury and Elizabeth Dunn Burge B married Thomas Jeremiah Stockstill, son of Joshua and Mary Knight Stockstill.)

Christopher paid taxes in Covington County, Ms., in 1821.

In the 1830 Hancock County, Ms., census, Christopher's household was listed as follows:

one male 20 to 40 (BB 1790-1810)
three males 0 to 10 (BB 1820-1830)
one female 20 to 40 (BB 1790-1810)

Christopher died after 1850 in Calcasieu Parish, La..

The State of Texas
County of Newton

On this the 22nd day of November A.D. 1851, personally appeared before me , a notary public within and for the county and State aforesaid Christopher Burge, aged about fifty seven years, a resident of Calcasieu Parish, Loiisiana, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Christopher Burge who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain ???? Harold, in the regiment commanded by ?????????? in the war with Great Britain, declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812. That he was drafted at ???? in St. Tammnay Parish Louisians, sometime in the month of November A.D. 1813 for the term of three months, and at the expiration of said term was honorably discharged at New Orleans about February 1814 - after which he was drafted a second time for a term of three months at Woodville in the territory of Mississippi, that he was a private in the Company commanded by Capt. John Cook in the regiment commanded by Col. ????? Nelson, and that he entered the service on or about the 1st of January 1815 and was honorably discharged a second time at New Orleans on or about the 1st of April 1815 - that he continued altogetherr in actual service in said war, about six months, as will appear by the muster rolls of said Company, that he received two discharges at the place specified, and as near the time or date named as his memory will serve - but both of said certificates of discharge were subsequently lost - he makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act granting bounty land to certain officers and soilders, who have been engaged in the military service of the United States - papered September 28th A.D. 1850 bounty land, under this or any other act of Congress. That he made a previous application in which he committed an error in the name of the Captain , or Commander of the Company - - - claiming under another tour of service -- - - - the words " Woodville, Mississippi " interlined before signing-------

On this the twenty sixth day of January A.D. eighteen hundred and fifty seven, personally appeared before me , an acting Notary Public, within and for the County and State aforesaid, Christopher Burge, aged sixty three years, a resident of Calcasiu Parish in the State of Louisiana, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Christopher Burge , who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain David D. W. Coke, in the regiment of infantry commanded by ___________ in the war with Great Britain, declared by the United States on the 18th June 1812-That he volunteered at Woodville, Mississippi on or about the 5th of January A.D. 1815, for the term of three months, and continued in actual service in said war for the term of fourteen days- - and was honorably discharged at New Orleans, Louisiana, on or about thee fourteenth day of March A.D. eighteen hundred and fifteen at the close of the war.

He makes this declaration, for the purpose of obtainning the bounty land to which he may be entitled, under the act approved March 3rd, 1855, he also declares that he has not received a warrant for
