Mrs. Dunaway final rites said
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary L. Dunaway were held Sunday from Silver Creek Baptist Church in Pike County with the Revs. Jerry Guess and Milton Fleming officiating.
She died in a Baton Rouge hospital July 23 after a lengthy illness.
Her husband, Perla J. Dunaway, preceded her in death in 1945. She was born August 9, 1896, in old Pike county, daughter of Jesse and Rosa Spence Lee.
MRS. DUNAWAY is survived by one son, J. C. Dunaway of McComb; four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Smith of Columbia, Mrs. L. A. Smith and Mrs. Percy Fortinberry of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Ernest Herring of Baker, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Morris and Mrs. Velma Holmes of Tylertown, Mrs. Myrtis Simmons of Bogalusa; two brothers, Ellis Lee of Philadelphia and Ollie Lee of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were grandsons.
Burial was in the Tylertown Cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Myrtis L. Simmons, 82, were held Friday, August 22, at Hartman Hughes Chapel with Rev. Robert Brumfield and Rev. Milton Fleming officiating.
Mrs. Simmons died August 20 at Resthaven Nursing Home in Bogalusa, La.
She was born November 1, 1897, daughter of Jessie and Rose Spence Lee.
SURVIVORS include four sons, Alvin Graves, Chalmette, La.; Wyman Graves, Bogalusa, La., Ray Graves, Violet, La. and Ralph Simmons, Bogalusa, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Ina Mae Holmes, Mrs. Ethel Brown, Tylertown and Mrs. Helen Evans, Bogalusa, La; two brothers, Ellis Lee, Philadelphia, and Ollie Lee, Tylertown; one sister, Bertha Morris, Tylertown; 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy R. Holmes, Rickey Graves, Kenneth Freeman, Alton Smith, Ralph Graves, Darren Simmons, Ripley Graves and Roger Jackson.
Burial was in the Rushing Cemetery with Hartman-Hughes in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Bertha Jane Morris, age 92, were held Jan. 2, 1991 at Capps Funeral Home with Rev. J. B. Stewart and Rev. Milton Flemings officiating.
She died Dec. 31, 1990 at Walthall County General Hospital. (Cause of death not available from the funeral home.)
Morris was born Dec. 4, 1898 in old Pike County, daughter of Jessie Monroe Lee and Rosa Spence Lee. She was a homemaker and member of Union Baptist Church.
She married Ollie C. Morris who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Talmadge Morris, and a daughter Doris Morris.
Survivors include two sons, Emmett Morris of Franklinton and Lee Roy Morris of Bogalusa; one daughter, Marie Morris Grubbs; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ryan Boyd, Michael Grubbs, David Grubbs, Waiford Grubbs, Clifford Morris and Lloyd Cotton.
Burial was in Silver Creek Cemetery with Capps Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ellis Lee
Services for Ellis Willie Lee were held Tuesday, March 1, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of McLain-Hays Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Duvall and the Rev. Eugene Triplette officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lee, 81, died unexpectedly Saturday.
He was born in Tylertown, but moved to Philadelphia about 34 years ago.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Liddie Mae Lee of Philadelphia; three daughters, Mrs. Bobette Johnston of Woodbridge, Va., Mrs. Mary Sue Triplette of Muncie, In., and Mrs. Willie Dean Gray of Braxton; three sons, John Ellis Lee of Rockville, Md., Dallas Lee of Pearl, and Clint Lee of Newport, Va.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Morris of Tylertown, and one brother, Ollie Lee of Tylertown.
Pallbearers were Jerry Williams, Charles Williams, Virgil Parker, Rayford Williamson, Willie Earl Lee, and Gary Gray.

Lee was born Oct. 1, 1909, in Walthall County, son of Jessie Monroe and Rosa Spence Lee. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith Bowman Lee, Tylertown; two sons, Douglas Lee, White Springs, Fla., Joel Lee, Tylertown; one daughter, Kathleen Hill, Tylertown, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Morris, Tylertown; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
PALLBEARERS WERE Tim Owens, Greg Hill, Keith Hill, Chris Lee, Mike Lee and John Lee. Honorary pallbearers were Perry Hill and Joseph Lee.
