[Randaulph Lee of Ms. Descendants 10-20-2002.FTW]

The following is per John Quin Lee's E-mail dated May 23, 2002:
A new headstone was placed in the year 2001 on the gravesite of Oscar and Edith with the spelling of Edith's maiden surname corrected from Hagen to Higgins. Edith's father was Herbert George Higgins, born April 25, 1876, died September 1, 1936. Edith's mother was Emma Welch, dates unknown.

The following newspaper clipping (probably from The Tylertown Times) transcription was supplied by John Quin Lee in an E-mail dated May 28, 2002.

In. MEMORIAM

In Loving Memory of Edith Higgins
Lee--Died April 17, 1942.
Six months ago today you left us
The dearest wife and mother and
the sweetest friend,
One of the best that God could lend.
You were loving gentle, thoughtful
and true,
Always willing a kind act to do.
It is not tears at the moment shed
that tell
How beloved is the soul that has
fled;
But tears through many a long
night wept
And loving remembrance fondly
kept.
Sadly missed by
HUSBAND AND children
