Pearla J. Dunaway, 49 year-old resident of the Mesa Community, died Tuesday morning after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services were conducted from the residence at ten o'clock Wednesday morning with Rev. V. C. Walker officiating. Interment was in the Tylertown cemetery.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, J. C. Dunaway, and four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Smith, Mrs. Abner Smith, Mrs. Hiriam Brumfield and Mrs. Jaunita Herring.

Bessie D. Smith
COLUMBIA - Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia for Bessie D. Smith, 80, of Columbia, who died Aug. 9, 1996, at Methodist Hospital of Marion County.
The Revs. Wayne Vanhorn and Wayne Ward will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia.
Mrs. Smith was a housewife and a member of Columbia First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur J. Smith of Columbia; one son, Arthur J. Smith Jr. of Southaven; two sisters, Juanita Herring of Baker, La. and Frances Fortenberry of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
