Cemetary, Lamar County, Mississippi.

Jesse Rowlett is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C..
Bessie Rouse lived in Baton Rouge and had nine girls and one son. Her
daughter Vera never married and worked at the State Capital in Baton Rouge.
Irene Riley told me that Henry Ley was a coachman, and the marriage to Elizabeth
was not welcomed by members of her family, and they moved away, to Baton Rouge
Louisana, and my mother never told me that her father had a sister.
It is said that Henry Ley ran a logging camp in Lamar County, and in the course
of his duties he reprimanded one black worker for beating his wife. Henry Ley
told the black employee not to do it again. The next night someone came to Henry
and told him that the black employee was again beating his wife. Henry went to stop him and the black employee threatened Henry, so Henry shot him in the chest and
killed him.
Henry and Bessie had 9 girls and one boy. When the boy grew up, he and a friend were swimming in the waters off the Gulfcoast and this son
disappeared and his body was never recovered.
Bessie and Henry's daughter Vera, never married and worked at the State
Capital in Baton Rouge all her working life.
