He was 16 at the time of his father's death. He sold "Adamson's Choice" January 15, 1759 to William Williams in Frederick County, Maryland. His deed describes him as a planter. He married when he was 19 to Nancy Spiers, daughter of Benjamin Spiers. After sale of "Adamson's Choice" Basil and his brother had contacts with Fredericks Country for building bridges and other public works. OATH OF FIDELTY Montgomery County, Maryland, March Court 1778 I do sware I do not hold myself bound to yield any Alegience or Obedience to the King of Great Britain his heirs or successors and that I will be true and faithful to the State of Maryland and will do to the utmost of my power, support maintain and defend the Freedom and Independence thereof and the Government as now established against all open enemies and secret and traitorous conspiraces and will use my utmost endevers to disclose and make known to the Governor or some one of the Judges or Justices thereof all Treasons or Traiterous Conspiraces attempts or combinations against this State or the Government thereof which may come to my knowledge so help me God. Sarah Coates is buried in the Adamson Family Cemetery Rex, Georgis, Clayton County. The cemetery is about .4 miles south of
Georgia Hwy 43 on Fielder Road on property of Marjorie Fielder Baker and joins the property of R> C> Fielder.
Greenberry Adamson settled on this property in 1822 when the area was Henry County. Property was purchased by Spalding Lewis Fielder in 1866.

Augustus Franklin [Frank] Adamson is buried in the Mckown-Adamson Cemetery near Morrow, Clayton County, Georgia. The cemetery is on the north east side of Interstate 75, 1,000 ft., east of Jonesboro Road [Ga. Hy. 54. His stone indicates he was a member of the Masonic Order.

When he married Julia Daniel he had to move into his wifes home since her father had died and he would have to support his mother in law and his wifes sisters. The home was near Atlanta at a place called " Shakerag '', later Adamson's District, mentioned in Margaret Mitchell's "Gone With The Wind". Rough and Ready was nearby.

Papa as Frank Adamson was called by his children, built them a home in Morrow, Ga., and painted it lavender. It had gingerbread brackets and ornate lightning rods. We attended Sundy School in the school house, Papa was the superintendent. He was instrumental in starting a Baptist Church.

Frank and Bird Daniel ran a store and Post Office. Frank and Emma Gilbert built a store, half for general merchandise and half for dress
goods and millinary. The large upstairs was for coffins and supplies.

In late 1900 Frank moved to Douglas County on 160 acre place with a grist and flour mill, pond home and tenant houses. The new home was eight miles from Douglasville and the railroad.

Before long a Post Office was approved at the Mill. It was called Hico Post Office.Frank became a Justice of the Peace and married couples sometime while they were still in their buggy.

During the year Frank Adamson took pneumonia[1908] and decided to move back to Clayton County to a place called Ellenwood. The community was Anvil Block.

As age begain to overtake him, he moved in town to 131 E Walker Ave, College Park, Ga., He traded his old mill property and built two rent houses for income. Bought a Chevrolet car and went to Sabine Pass to visit Orestus and family.

After 56 years of married life, Frank Adamson died of a stroke.

Julia Daniel Adamson is buried in the McKown
- Adamson Cemetery, Morrow, Clayton County, Georgia. The cemetery is located on the East side of Interstate 75, 1,000 ft. East of Jonesboro Road [ Georgia State Highway 54 ].

Julia had firey Red hair as did all her sisters and her mother.

Orestus or Daddy Doc, sometime called ''D Doc" by his grandchildren was a Medical Doctor with the rank of Major in the United States Public Health Service.

He was named for Rev. J. M. DeFoor who later conducted his marriage service.
Orestus became a Mason as soon as old enough.
He moved to Atlanta to work as a Motorman in 1900. There Grace Arnette was born.

His father bought a grist mill and Orestus, Grace and baby moved into the millers house in Douglas County. He wanted to try his hand as a miller. He gave it up after awhile and moved to a small farm on the Douglasville road.Before long he moved to a new home in Forest Park.
