The birth records of the Parish relate several incidents where Jean Pierre Bilbo, his wife Susanne, or both stood as godparents of children born to French parents in Manakin. The first was 8 March 1730 for baptism of Marie Mallet, daughter of Etiene (Steven) and Olive Mallet. On 13 March 1732 for Elizabet Edmon, daughter of Jean Edmon. 29th xber 1736 for Sara Bryers, daughter of Edward and Sara Bryers. 10th xber 1737 for Jean Benin, son of Antoine and Elizabet Benin. 31 July 1738 for Elizabet Elson, daughter of Thomas and Elizabet Elson. Jean Pierre Bilbo will was dated Nov. 15, 1750 and filed April 2, 1751. Barthollemy Dupuy convey to Jean Pierre Bilbo a tract of land containing 34 acres on Feb 20 1738, I believe Barthollemy Dutoy and his wife Francis was either his grandparents or his mothers brother. Jean Pierre Bilbo conveys to John Pankey son land on Feb 21 1748, I believe this John Pankey was a brother-in-law, not proven. The following is part of his will. 1st I give to my son James 300acres of land .2 I give to my son Joseph 300 acres of land. 3 I give to my son John 300 acres. 4 I give to my son Peter 300 acres of land. 5 I give to my son William the remainder part of the said tract to him and his heirs forever, the whole tract being by estimation 1626 acres. 7-I give to each of my above named children two cows. 8-I give to Isaac Dutoy one tract of land. It being in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds to me paid and to be paid by the said Isaac Dutoy. 9-My will and desire is that my beloved wife Elizabeth in joy and possess the remaining part of my estate during her natural life and after her decease to be equally divided between my children hereafter named, that is, James, John, Peter, William, Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, and Sarah and that she possess the land bequeathed to my son Joseph which included the plantation during her natural life. 10- I do nominate and appoint my beloved wife and Joseph Chandler to be executors of this my last will and testament. I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of Nov 1750. In the presence of Joseph and John Green, Joseph Chandler and Isaac Dutoy. Will bk #1 pg 55 Inventory and appraisal of the exstate of John Peter Bilbo, deceased, made by Joseph greer, christopher Hudson and John Humphreys, value 138 pounds 18 shillings 3 pence, returned to Court by Elizabeth Bilbo recorded 7 Jan, 1752 Pg 47 deed 16, Aug, 1737 Thomas Porter and Elizabeth his wife, for f 12, to John Peter Bilbo, 33 Acres on south side of James River, part of 333 acres, granted by patent to Thomas Porter, bounder by Stephen chastain, Jones Creek, Mary Ann Lookadow, with all houses, etc. Wit: Wm. Salle, Stephen Mallet, Stephen Chastain signed: Thos. Porter -recorded 16 aug. 1737
