Enlisted in the123rd Regiment of Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Trained at
Greensburg for three months then went to the front.
Battles included "Buzzards Roost", Atlanta,Nashville, and Franklin.
Entered the service in1863 at the age of 19. Discharged in AUG. 1865.
Operated two hundred acres, of farming and stock raising.
