Mary Elizabeth(Bessie) died in a wreck. She was riding her three wheeled bicycle on the Jackson Landing Rd. in late afternoon and a lady in a van hit her. She breathed for a little while but never regained concousness. She was pronounced dead at North Shore Hospital in Slidell La.

Before her demise, she ahd been treated for an amyloid tumor in her lyrinx &
skin cancers. Many had been removed. I also suspect that she had cancer in her right lung though not let the doctor run any tests. The x-rays showed a probable site in the right lung. Bessie also suffered from fits of anger, and extended periods of crying. I feel she probably had years of exteme depression. But at that time there was no treatment for a poor person.

She was 86 when she died. and was still doing housework for people five days a week and staying with a woman at night for $5.00 a night. This woman was 15 years younger than Bessie yet felt safer having Bessie with her. Bessie stood on her own two feet and covered all the ground she walked on.

Howard Lessie McLois [Female] b. 16 OCT 1923 - d. 10 MAY 1980

Lessie was divorced from Ted during the second world war. Ted went into the service as a single person. It was Quite sometime before she could prove to the system that she really was married to him. She and Braxton began receiving an allottment. Also Ted wrote to her that he had a girlfriend. She divorced Ted and Married S.T. Spears. There were no children of this marriage. After the war Ted came to Lessies parents house, asking to see Braxton. When Lessie saw Ted she never went back to S.T.. She spent that first night with Ted and started divorce proceedings against S.T. the next week. Though Ted loved himself, Lessie loved Ted.

Lessie died from a stroke. She was also very overweight most of her adult life. Amazingly enough though she was fast moving, very active and very talented in cooking sewing, crafts and in communicating with people.

Ted was married to a woman named Diane after Lessie died. There were no children of this marriage.

Ted died of cancer. Ted was charged with with sexually molesting Chyrele in Picayune, Ms. He was never brought to trial because lessie took him and the children to Arizona until it all died down and she could get Chyrele married to Donald Holebrook.compiled by:
