Clark lived in Byrd's Chapel up Oscar Smith road. After the first curve about 200 yards on the left you would have turnedleft and went about 3/4 of a mile up on a high hill.
In the 1900 census Clark was listed as a 50 yr old farmer living in beat 4 with wife Martha Amacker, age 40, married 18 yrs, having 8 children, all were living at home.
In the 1910 census the yr of his death, Clark was listed as a 60 yr old widowed farmer living beat 4 with a post office at Chinquapin, Ms. with 5 of his children, Mattie age 15, Minnie age 13, J.C. age 11, Jay age 10 and Bessie age 4.
George was a Bailey before being adopted into the Garmon family.
The story goes that grandpa got mad at grandma for NOT waiting ONE more day to give birth to my dad. Dad was born Sept.7,1932. After that grandpa really did not have much to do with my dad.

A resident of Baker, she went to be with the Lord at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. She was 76 and a native of Clay County, Miss.
Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Sgt. Maj. Carl Phillips. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
She is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Timothy Wilson of Baton Rouge, Laura and Troy Sullivan of San Angelo, Texas, Kathy McIntyre of Baker, Paulette Moore of Houlka, Miss., and Joy Spiers and fiancé George Banta Sr., both of Bayou Pigeon; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul V. Spiers Sr.; a son, Paul V. Spiers II; her parents, William Jesse and Mary Berlene Criddle Brooks; two sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.
