Beeman Hazel [Female] b. 1 JAN 1917 - d. 28 APR 1996 St. James City, Fl.

Hazel was my favorite aunt. She always helped our family by sharing her children's hand me down clothes. She often visited in the summer from NJ and brought our family fresh fruit. She died recently in Florida and was cremated. Her daughters may have taken the remains back to NJ, as Hazel had done a few years earlier with Uncle Earl's remains. A funny story: Hazel and Pat, her daughter stopped by to see me in WV on their way to NJ. Earl had been dead for sometime. Hazel send my children to the car to get something for her. When they began opening the trunk, she yelled at them, "be careful and don't spill Earl." She had the urn in her car. My children were quite spooked.

Hazel had a daughter named Phyllis that she hadn't seen for many years. I believe she had been given up for others to care for. Many years later, I recall that Hazel and Pat went somewhere and found her. Pat said she knew she was her sister because she looked exactly like her. I don't know who Phyllis's father was. Hazel was married 5 times.

Bevill James [Male]

As children Hazel and Phil came to visit us each summer. Jimmy was a big boy and my shinny brother Tim was wrestling with Jimmy in the yard. Jimmy's leg got broken. Tim's big victory.

Jimmy died in an accident at a glass factory. The way I recall the story, he was working early one morning inside a kiln along with another mechanic. The other workers came in, unaware that the men were inside. The kiln was turned on and the men were burned inside. Jimmy had 2 sets of children, I believe. I met Susie one summer and it seems they had 2 small children. Later he remarried and had other children (I believe).

Bevill Phil [Male]

Phil was a great guy. I'm trying to find out some info on him. Checked the SS death index but can't locate him. I may not have the correct spelling for the last name. I've tried all the various way I can think of. He died in NJ and was buried there. I recall that my mom and dad went to his funeral and Don and Shelby Green stayed with us children. We had a grand week--they let us stay up all night.
