BRADEN
Charles William “Bill” Braden, 72, of Southern Pines, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines.
Bill was a graduate of Colgate University, Class of 1960, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Braden Sr., and a sister, Susan Penksa.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Belinda A. Braden; daughter, Leigh Wolff and husband, Ted, of Maryland; son, Timothy Braden and wife, Karen, of Virginia; granddaughter, Samantha, of Virginia; mother, Rosemary Braden, of Texas; sister, Barbara Heinlein and husband, Douglas, of Texas; nieces, Suzie Penksa, of California, Heidi DeNoi and Heather Johnson, both of Ohio; stepgrandchildren, Kristen Wolff, of Florida, and Julia Hatmaker, of Maryland; along with several grand-nieces and nephews.
The family has request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
