Verna Mellinger is a Warren, Trumbull, Ohio, Kibler connection! Her grandmother was Christiana Kubler (Kibler). Christiana was called "Anna" in America and was a sister of my greatgrandmother, Mary Kibler Baehr. Anna married William Albert Koehler 30 Jun 1881 and had 2 children: Lillian Koehler (1883) and Albert William Koehler (1885). Lillian never married. (She and I were pen pals for years. She lived with the Baehr cousins) Albert William and wife Su Clarke had one child: Verna. Verna married Edward Mellinger and their son Ira lives today in Ohio.

Verna (1914) was 5 years older than my father (1919). She was called Dolly as a child as the Baehr cousins wanted a boy, not a girl, to be born into the family. The cousins refused to use the name Verna for years and used " Dolly" instead. Even my father knew her as Dolly. When I met her and called her Dolly she told me the story and asked me to call her Verna!
