64, died Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Bay Pines, Fla. A native of Frostburg, he was a son of the late Hugh
and Marie Speir. An outstanding athlete at Beall High School from where he was graduated, he served in World War I with the
Army of Occupation in Germany. Formerly associated with his father in the meat business in Frostburg, he had resided in
Florida for the past 10 years. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. M. Louise Bates, Mrs. Mabel S. Stevens, Mrs. Agnes Jeffries, and
Mrs. John Stewart, all of Frostburg; and a brother, Andrew H. Speir, Baltimore. Funeral arrangements are incomoplete pending
arrival of the body from Florida. The body will be taken to the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. The Cumberland Evening

He was buried on 9 Jan 1958 in Frostburg Memorial Cemetery, Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. Frostburg - Services for William E. Speir, 64, who died Saturday in Veterans Administration Hospital, Bay Pines, Fla., will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Durst Funeral Home here. Rev. William Yingling, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate and interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. The body will arrive at the funeral home tomorrow.
