. He died on 25 Jan 1999 in Boonsboro, Washington Co., Maryland. BOONSBORO-Melvin V. Albright, 77 years, of Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro, died Monday at his home. Born Jan. 18, 1922, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late James Marshall and Myrtle Fatkin Albright. He was employed by the Maryland Correctional Institution, retiring in 1978, and later was employed by the Washington County Hospital. He served in the United States Army during World War U in the European Theatre. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of Antietam Post #236 American Legion, Sharpsburg. He is survived by his wife, Erma J. Speir Albright; two daughters, Bella Ann Carter, Damascus, and Connie J. Brown, Hagerstown; one son, James H. Albright, Hagerstown; two brothers, Thomas Albright, Boca Raton, Fla., and Louis Albright, Frostburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Albright. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Richard A. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, 141 N. Edgewood Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21740, or to the charity of one's choice.
