He died on 23 Dec 1997 in Midlothian, Allegany Co., Maryland. Midlothian - Harvey Skidmore, Sr., 77, of 11511 Blan Avon Road, Midlothian, died Tuesday, Dec. 23,1997, at his residence. Born Sept. 18,1920, in Shaft, he was the son of the late Howard "Jake" Skidmore, Sr., and Elvira (Davis) Skidmore. He also was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Green, and one grandson, Nathan Richards. Mr. Skidmore was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian, where he formerly was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He retired as the owner and operator of Skidmore Auto Wreckers, Midlothian. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Isabelle (Speir) Skidmore; one daughter, Roberta K. Richards, at home, and friend Don Pansier, Cumberland; two sons, Harvey Skidmore, Jr. and wife Bonnie, Midlothian, and Hugh Speir Skidmore and fiance Cheryl Ann Kenney, Frostburg; two sisters, LaMont Ross and husband Lewis, Shaft, and Mary E. Weindorf, Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Darward Skidmore and his wife Helen, Midlothian, and Howard Skidmore, Jr. and wife Catherine, Midlothian; seven grandchildren, Shaunna Leigh Skidmore, Jessica Ann Skidmore, Tara Lee Skidmore, Eric Michael Skidmore, Justin David Richards, Wayne Allen Skidmore and Randy Scott Skidmore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted at the Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian, on Saturday at 1 p. m. with the Rev. Jimmie Blair officiating. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park with military rites accorded by the Farraday Post 24 American Legion Honor Guard. Cumberland Times obituary
