A memorial service for John Aulden Haislet, 79, of Bryan , Texas will be held on Wednesday , June 8, 2005, 2:00 PM at A&M United Methodist Church in College Sation Texas. John Aulden Haislet deid on May 24 2005. He was born April 17 1926 in St Pertersburg, Florida to Aulden Murrell and MAry Alice Young Haislet.

He served in the US Naval Reserve 1944-1946 as a sonar instructor assigned to the Philippine Islands at the end of WWII.

He received a Bachelors Degree in Forestry from the University of Georgia and his Masters Degree in Forest Management from Duke University before relocating to the Bryan-College Station area in 1959. He joined tje Texas Forest Service as a member of the Information and Education Dept where he authored the book "Famous Trees of Texas" abd edited the eighth edition of "Forest Trees of Texas". He served as Assistant to the Director and retired after 27 years of service.

Mr Haislet was a member of A&M United Methodist Church in College Station for 45 years. He sang in the chancel choir for 30 years, served as choir director, served ont he Administrative Board, head of Trustees aqnd head of Membership and Evangelism committee. His most challenging yet most rewarding activity was serving on the church organ purchasing committee.

He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1950 while in Clinton NC and the Scottish Rite (14 th degree) in Wilmington NC and the Scottish Rite (32 Degree) in Houston Texas. SEved on the 19 th Degree team of the Bryan Texas Scottish Rite and was member of the Shrine Club , Arabia Temple Houston Texas.

Mr Haislet was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and the NAtional Sons of the American Revolution.

He enjoyed camping, sailing, traveliong, fishing, music, duclimer playing, genealogy, gardening and yard work.

Mr Haislet was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie L Haislet on 10 29, 2001. He is servived
by his two sons and daughter in law, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Son James Aulden and Mary
Helen Cunningham Haislet, their daughters and sons in law, Ashley Elizabeth abd Rudy Grimaldo of Lewisville,
Terxas and Mishelle and Bobby Smith and daughter Kandince of Kentucky. Son Jeffrey Alan and Mary Elizabeth Reisz Haislet and their sons John Alan and Jason Alan of Tyler Texas.

Mr Hailset because of hiscommitment to his faith and his Church, requested that memorials be made to A&M United Methodist Church 417 University Dr College Station Texas 77840
