He died at the bier of his son and their funeral services were jointly held at Eden Evangelical Church in Affton. He was the pastor at St Lukes for 10 years before going to a church in Holstein, MO. He returned to St Lukes in 1945 to deliver a sermon commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Church. He was president of the board of Emmaus Home, Marthasville, MO.
