Allen B. Spier, 67, trust officer and assistant cashier of the Second National Bank, died suddenly last night at his home, 303 Schley street, where he had been confined for the past three months due to illness. A son of the late Andrew and Marian Stewart Spier, both of Scotland, he was a native of Cumberland and lived here his entire life. Mr. Spier was educated in the public schools of Allegany County, and graduated from the Wesleyan Academy, Wilbraham, Mass. Spier had been connected with the Second National Bank since his youth, except for a short time when he was a secretary for the late Gov. Lloyd Lowndes. He was a member of Ohr Lodge No. 131, AF & A Masons; Salem Chapter 18 Royal Arch Masons; Antioch Commandary, No. 6 Knights Templar, of which he was secretary; Ali Ghan Shrine Temple; Salem Council No. 11, Royal and Select Masters; and of the First Presbyterian Church, of which he was an elder. Mr. Spier is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen Footer Spier; a son, Dr. A. Allen Spier, Presbyterian Medical Center, Pittsburgh; two sisters, Miss Anna D. Spier and Mrs. Margaret Upham, both of this city. He was a brother-in-law of the late John J. Bell, native of Lonaconing, retired deputy appraiser of the Port of Baltimore, who died recently in that city. Mr. Bell's body was interred in Rose Hill Cemetery here. The Cumberland
