A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Charles Dietrich Storer, 30, of 911 Bedford Street, who was killed yesterday afternoon in a 70 foot fall while working on a job at Weslvaco's Luke Mill. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Boyle, Terry Carblan, Thomas Cobnelley, Francis Thom, Thomas Farrell, Anthony Franrciosi, Robert Twigg and Eugene B. Stein. A Christian Wake will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Scarpelli Funeral Home with members of the Knights of Columbus participating. Mr. Slorer was pronounced dead at the scene along with Philip M. Straley Jr., 31, of Williamsport. The accident occurred at about 2 p.m. A spokesman for the Luke Mill said the two boilermakers, employed by Tidewater Construction Corp., Norfolk, Va., met death when they fell from steel work at a construction site where a new recovery boiler is being installed. The spokesman said the two men were standing on an economizer header, a tank-like object, which the men had rigged and were raising with a hoist. The header turned over, causing them to fall. Mr. Storer, a native of Cumberland, was born August 5, 1940, a son of Sidney H. Storer Jr., and Mary D. (Dietrich) Storer, 717 Columbia Avenue. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cumberland Council 586, Knights of Columbus, Fort Cumberland Post. 13, American Legion, and Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Storer was a graduate of Allegany High School and of Allegany Community College, and attended Frostburg State College. He was a former member of the Naval Reserve. Besides his parents, he is survived by his widow, June (Judy) Storer, and a sister, Mrs. David A. Durst, LaCenter, Ky. Friends will be received in the funeral home today from 7 until 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 until and 7 until 9 p.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 8, 1971
