Fisherville, Va. - Blanche Middleton Fearnow, 79, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at the Shanandoah Nursing Home, Fisherville. Born April 12, 1918, in Carlos, she was the daughter of the late James and Eliza (Hughes) Middleton. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Speir; her second husband, Clarence L. Fearnow; and a brother, John Ray Middleton, who died in World War II. Mrs. Fearnow was active in the United Methodist Church. She formerly was employed by the Celanese Fibers Corp. before becoming a secretary at an insurance office. Surviving are two step-daughters, Linda F. Quimby, Staunton, Va., and Betty F. Rosengren, Monument, Color.; three sisters, Lois Barnett, LaVale, Md., Matilda Campbell, Barberton, Ohio; and Mae Williams, Swanton, Md., and six step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Md., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p. m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p. m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Cumberland Times-News obituary
