Lonaconing - Marion Speir Moore, 73, of 44 Douglas Avenue, Lonaconing, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born Feb. 12, 1924, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of Hugh Speir Connor and Alice Jeanette Connor. Mrs. Moore was employed at the George Brown Insurance Company, Cumberland. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Corriganville, and was a 1941 graduate of Central High School. She was a member of the Professional Insurance Association, Alvin C. Neat VFW Post No. 5280 Ladies Auxiliary, Martha Washington Chapter No. 10 Order of the Eastern Star, and Lonaconing Senior Citizens. Surviving are one son, Francis Hugh Moore and wife Barbara (Wilson), Stafford, Va; one grandson, James Francis Moore, Stafford, Va; and many close friends who were like family. Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p. m. with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. The Martha Washington Chapter No. 10 Order of the Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. Cumberland Times obituary
