Udy John [Male] b. 19 Oct 1882 Loaconing Md - d. 1930 Bluefield West Virginia
John A. Udy, 67, formerly of Lonaconing, died last Tuesday at Bluefield, W. Va., where he was engaged in the insurance business. He had been in failing health for three years. Mr. Udy lived in Bluefield for 22 years and took a prominent part in affairs there. He helf various offices in the Loyal Order of Moose and the Knights of Pythias. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since he was 18 years of age. Mr. Udy was a native of Middle Creek, Pa. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Isaac Udy, New York: Mrs. R. K. Hampton, Wytheville, Va.; Mrs. L. V. Linkous, Dublin, Va.; Mrs. John H. Powell and Mrs. Lee Wright, and Mrs. W. A. Counts, all of Bluefield. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Crossen and Mrs. Mary Reeves, both of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. William Rodda, Frostburg; Dr. Thomas W. Udy, Cumberland, and Fred W. Udy, manager of the Flat Top Grocery Company, Bluefield. Burial was at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, Wednesday afternoon. The Cumberland Evening Times, March 1, 1930
