LONACONING — James W. Speir, 83, a native of Lonaconing, died yesterday in the Newton D. Baker VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va. He was a member of James P. Love Post American Legion, Alvin C. Neat Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Lonaconing Republican Club. Surviving are a sister-in-law Mrs. Grace Bell, with whom he resided here, and a number of nephews and nieces. The body is at the Eichhorn funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Wednesday at 1 p. m. with Rev. John O. Price officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by both the American Legion and VFW. The Cumberland Evening Times, January 13, 1969
